The ‘March for Nations’ expedition has been reshaped to take place within the UK, transforming into a deeply personal tribute as well as a commemorative challenge. In August 2025, veteran Jon James will embark on a powerful journey to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War 2, aiming to raise £60,000 for two vital charities.

This revised challenge will see Jon walk from Snowdon in Wales to the Commando Memorial in Scotland.

The team will complete:

Mount Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)
(16km)

Ascend and lay a wreath at the summit to remember those who lost their lives during WW2.

Walk to and Ascend Scafell Pike
(264km)

Walk the equivalent of the Sadakan to Ranau Death March.

Walk from Scafell Pike to and Ascend Ben Nevis
(238km)

Walk the equivalent of two Bataan Death Marches.

Ben Nevis to the Commando Memorial
(17.82km)

Ascend Ben Nevis then descend and walk to the Commando Memorial, stopping at the railway station at Spean Bridge, donning 22lbs and running the route up to the memorial. Once there a service will be held to commemorate all those that lost their lives during the World War 2 and to celebrate the end of hostilities.

The expedition will start and finish with acts of remembrance to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War 2.
